About Me

My name is Gary and I am an industry-recognised designer who solves problems. Throughout my education and career, I have honed a skill set that allows me to find solutions to often difficult or challenging briefs. I am not afraid to challenge working practices or methods if I can see a smarter way of doing things and thrive on success. I am filled with immense pride when a campaign I have devised hits the mark and achieves its goals.

I have a comprehensive understanding of the world of design be it in print, for social media or for web. Since leaving university more than ten years ago I have developed proficient abilities with the Adobe Creative Suite allowing me to create accurate, informative and appropriate pieces of design.

Last year, I completed my Masters in Graphic Design and this portfolio highlights my most recent work and demonstrates some of my finely tuned
capabilities.

My Work History

Print and Design Manager

Great Yarmouth Borough Council

2020 – Present

I currently lead the Print and Design teams for the local Council. The Print Room prints more than 1 million sheets of paper a year and the Design Team completes over 400 jobs for both internal and external clients.

Graphic Designer

Great Yarmouth Borough Council

2019 – 2020

Before a restructuring, I was the only employed Graphic Designer. This meant that every design job for the Council came to me. I produced a variety of solutions including the branding for a 26 million pound leisure center.

Digital Media Officer / Communications Officer

Norfolk Constabulary

2016 – 2019

In these roles, I created engaging content for the constabulary which increased public engagement and improved the perception of the work they did. Working closely with colleagues across the organisation I was able to determine what ‘stories’ would be received well and would resonate with the intended audiences.
